BRUNSWICK, GA. | The person who removed 70 Confederate flags from the graves of Civil War veterans about two weeks ago at Brunswick’s historic Oak Grove Cemetery has stepped forward, and it’s not the usual suspect of vandals or activists.
The leader of a local Confederate heritage group had called Brunswick Police when he visited the cemetery about two weeks ago and found that 70 of the 78 flags placed on burial sites in April were missing.
