BRUNSWICK, Ga. | A former Army physician who worked at what may have been among the last of the “pill mills” in the region pleaded guilty Monday in federal court to conspiring to unlawfully distribute drugs and laundering the profits.
Paul Spence Ruble, 63, was to have gone on trial Monday in U.S. District Court on a federal indictment charging him with two counts of conspiracy, one to illegally distribute drugs and one to launder money, and 441 counts of distributing controlled substances for no legitimate medical purpose.
