An investigation is underway to determine whether hazing or child neglect contributed to injuries suffered by McIntosh Academy football players, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said.
Stacy Carson, special agent in charge of the GBI’s Kingsland office, said an investigation was begun at the request of the office of Atlantic Circuit District Attorney Tom Durden.
“Students have been injured due to these incidents,’’ Carson said.
The GBI investigation is to determine whether any of the incidents constituted hazing or child neglect, Carson said.
The investigation was opened Sept. 9, and Carson said it could concluded as early as Friday.
