BRUNSWICK | A McIntosh County man accused of running down and killing a woman on a bridge at St. Simons Island is due back in court at 2 p.m. Friday after a Glynn County magistrate declined to grant a bail for his release from jail.
Gary Holland Jr.’s lawyer, Keith Higgins, had waived a preliminary hearing on charges of homicide by vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident that caused a death and other charges. After Chief Magistrate Timothy Barton refused to give Holland a bond, Higgins took the waiver off the table.
