Kingsland woman struck, killed while riding bicycle on St. Simons Island causeway

ST. SIMONS ISLAND | A Kingsland woman was killed Sunday afternoon when her bicycle was struck as she was riding it across the MacKay River Bridge on the island causeway, police said.

Susan Kilner, 36, of an Old Still Road address, was riding with her husband outside the travel lane when a vehicle entered the breakdown lane and struck her, police said.

She was taken by ambulance to the emergency room at Southeast Georgia Health System, where a physician pronounced her dead, Assistant Glynn County Coroner Chris Stewart said.
