BRUNSWICK, GA. | Monday morning, Ernest Andrus, 92, had a clear view of St. Simons Island, the goal he’ll hit Saturday morning after a better than 2,600-mile cross-country run and walk he started Oct. 7, 2013, at the Pacific in San Diego.
He could see the island to the east when he topped the Sidney Lanier bridge on the third from the last leg on his fund-raising jaunt. With him were a patrol car, a lot of people waving flags and a Brunswick fire truck trailing.
